Product Description
The Pendleton AICF (American Indian College Fund)Pomo Dau Blanket is designed to honor the Native American Woven Basket. 82% pure virgin and wool/18% cotton. Unnapped with whipstitch binding. Twin size: 64" x 80". The basket is an important item in Native American culture; it represents industry, can be a work of art, a useful tool, and an honored gift. It comes to you in a dream and stays with you in death, a thing with a spirit and a story all its own. This basket design is the Dau, the "door" through which a basket's spirit is allowed to pass, to inspect completed baskets and fill them with energy. Since 1990 Pendleton has been proud to support the work of the American Indian College Fund. Sales of these blankets fund scholarships to tribal colleges and make a difference in the lives of students throughout the country.
